Co-chair, Architect and Town Planner

Head of the Spatial Planning and Design (SPaDe) laboratory and team head/coordinator of Israel100 imitative- Strategic Action towards Israel's Centennial. 
Recently he coordinated the TechCity21, a Strategic Master Plan and new Zoning for the Technion’s main Campus in Haifa and the Israel Marine Spatial Plan. A comprehensive spatial plan and policy measures for the Israeli Coastal and EEZ in the Mediterranean.
Assif is currently a partner in Gutman Assif Architects Ltd.
Between 2004 and 2010 he served as the director of the Planning Administration of the Government of Israel. He was a founding partner in Shamay Assif-Naama Malis, Architecture and Urban Design Ltd. (1997-2004), had ran his private practice (1994-1996).
Between 1984 and 1994 he served as the City Engineer of Tel-Aviv-Yafo. 
In 2020 he was awarded the EMET Prize for Art, Science and Culture, in 2013 the Design Award (with Gutman and Assif), in 2011 the Israel Planning Association Laureate and in 2004 the Eilon Urban Design Award (with Malis).
